Now when they saw the boldness of Peter and John, and perceived that they were uneducated, common men, they were astonished. And they recognized that they had been with Jesus.
Youth Group for Grades 9-12
This is a ministry for High School teens committed to reading the Bible, and loving Jesus Christ and each other.
We will:
- Grow in faith by the grace of God through the study of the Bible
- Pray together
- Grow in Godly relationships with each other
- Reach out to friends
- Serve together
- Have fun together
We meet every Wednesday evening at 7:00pm for youth group. It’s a time for us to have some fun, get to know each other, and explore God’s word. We play games, read scripture, hear from Pastor Nate, and break off into small groups to discuss what we’ve learned. Each month we also meet as individual small groups instead of big groups so we can dial into each other and our own interests and needs.

Middle School Sunday School
Our middle school-aged teens are invited to dig deep into the Reformed theology that guides Calvary Church. With Pastor Sheldon Starkenburg as their teacher, they will explore questions and answers brought up by one of our most important confessions The Heidelberg Catechism (link below). Through this two-year course, each child is able to encounter the bigger questions and answers scripture teaches us in a way that will lay a foundation for them for the rest of their lives.
High School Sunday School
Our high school-aged teens join Pastor Nate Klingenberg in our Youth House located across the parking lot on the western side of our campus. Building on the teachings of familiar Bible stories and Reformed theology, students will discuss and explore the complexities of how faith and life come together.
Friends
Relationships are a critical part of the lives of teenagers. We provide great environments where kids can come together to meet other kids. Adults serve as mentors to connect students with Biblical truth and help them apply it to their specific situations. Our desire is to partner with parents to help teenagers thrive as they transition into becoming adults.
Safety
Here at Calvary Church, we understand the importance of trust. We seek to earn and keep your trust by holding ourselves accountable to proper safety standards when it comes to the care of our children. This is why we require all volunteers (both members and non-members) who work directly with children to know, sign, and adhere to our Child and Volunteer Safety Policy. This policy outlines proper conduct as well as the consequences for those who fail to meet the requirements of said conduct. Each year we require all volunteers, both new and old to reacquaint and resign our safety policy, ensuring that all are aware of proper conduct.
GEMS (3rd-8th Grades)
GEMS stands for: Girls Everywhere Meeting the Savior. This is a girl’s centered ministry which seeks to “equip girls with God’s love.” Guided by our dedicated female counselors, this club is a place where girls can belong and be loved. Girls will learn about God, his word, and his world! “They will learn how to apply the bible to their everyday life and challenges, participate in service projects, and make meaningful crafts that encourage others.”
Cadets (3rd-8th Grades)
A boy’s centered ministry which seeks to bring up young men in faith and ability. Guided by our dedicated male counselors, boys from grades 3-8 are invited to explore God in scripture, nature, and in service. Children will learn practical life skills, outdoor and craftsman skills, and, most importantly, learn what being a man of God really looks like.
